The family whose journey started it all -- Abbie, her husband Stacy, Alayna, and Laura.

Who We Are

Abbie P. Huckleby
I went to Tuskegee Institute back in 1980, full of hope and determination. Unfortunately, I had to leave school because I lacked the knowledge or support to find funding that could have helped me stay. That experience shaped me. And when I became a mother to my two daughters, I was determined they would not face the same fate.
My husband and I knew that, on our salaries, we couldn’t afford college for two daughters attending at the same time. So I started early — researching, praying, organizing, and applying. And it worked. Both of my daughters graduated debt-free with over $450,000 in scholarships combined.
What began as a personal journey became my life’s work. Through Parent Project LLC, I now mentor families nationwide, helping students unlock scholarship opportunities while strengthening their confidence and faith. I lead workshops, community presentations, speaking engagements, and one-on-one consultations — all rooted in the same strategy I used for my own daughters.
I serve as President of the Moss Point High School Class of 1980 Scholarship Committee and on the Houston Tuskegee Alumni Board — because giving back is part of the mission.
My prayer is that every family I work with discovers the same peace, joy, and favor we experienced — and that they leave knowing that with faith, preparation, and persistence, doors will open that no one can close.
